TM61 – Multipoint Switching System

The TM61 Multipoint Switching System (SMM-TM61) is the first complete drive and control system for switchgear from Tecnologie Meccaniche.

The Multipoint System extends the multipoint architecture already used on High Speed lines to “traditional” line switchgear. The system, entirely designed and manufactured by Tecnologie Meccaniche, includes a switch box (SECC-MP) that inherits the aspects already proven in SECC systems, two switch indicator signals (SID-MP) derived from the SID-TM32, a first hydraulic switch point on the running track, from 1 to 3 hydraulic switch points on the running track. In addition to these elements, a diagnostic and signal acquisition system based on multiple sensors redefines the shunting switchgear technology in Italy.

The Multipoint Switching System, designed for installation on cross switches, introduces for the first time in Italy programmed breakage devices that allow, even in case of accidental tilting, to minimize damage to the switch and restore it in a short time, replacing a limited number of components.

The TM61-SMMi is designed to manage, protect and control the following switches:

  • E1S60/250/0,12 c.p.f for a maximum speed on the deviated section of 30 km/h;
  • E1S60/400/0.074 c.p.f for a maximum speed on the deviated section of 60 km/h;
  • E1S60/1200/0,040 c.p.f. for a maximum speed on the deviated section of 100 km/h;

n addition to the structures, the TM61 also inherits from previous designs the obstacle detection and defective LED identification functionality found in the SECC and SID, while maintaining the SIL4 safety level. It also introduces new diagnostic functions that will increase the information about the status of the switch’s health.
